SIOUX CITY -- Ronald R. Deuel, 61, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness. Services will be 5 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Dave Denzer of Morningside Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation with the family will be 3 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Ron was born July 7, 1949, in Marshall, Minn. He grew up in the Milroy, Minn., area and graduated from Milroy High School in 1967. Ron married Joyce A. Nybo on Nov. 25, 1967, in Marshall. Ron came to Sioux City and was a computer analyst for Interbake Foods for many years. He enjoyed sailing, painting and spending time at the lake. Ron's eyes were donated to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank. Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Sioux City; four daughters, Robin VanOverbeke and her husband, Dan of Marshall, Ronda Mitchell and her husband, Todd of Topeka, Kan., Tammy Hinrich and her fiance, Jeremy Bauer of Sioux City, and Jessica Chesley of Des Moines; two brothers, Martin Deuel and his wife, Kathy of Marshall, and Alan Deuel of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Sharon Peterson of Las Vegas; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Deuel. A memorial has been established in Ron's name.
