Mary Jean Dunning, 82, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Casa De Paz Nursing Home. Graveside services for Mary will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. There will be a Vigil service at 6:30 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Mary was born on February 26, 1929 in Sioux City to Henry and Ethel (Hillary) Hildebrand. She graduated from Central High School. She was married to Elmer A. Dunning on April 9, 1950 in Elk Point, SD. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1981 in Sioux City. She worked for years as a Book Keeper for Foulk Brothers. Mary enjoyed sewing and cross stitch work and she loved her cats. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter Kate Dunning of Sioux City and a close friend "adoptive daughter" Michele Kuhlmann and fiancée Tim Sachtjen of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Henry "Hank" Hildebrand. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Humane Society of Siouxland
