Edith May Zunker

SIOUX CITY -- Edith May (Harnish) Zunker, 64, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be noon Sunday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1101 South Cornelia, with the Rev. Allard officiating. Burial will be in Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery, Winchester, Kan. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Edith was born Dec. 14, 1945, in Winchester, Kan., the daughter of Paul Harold and Dorothy May (Thomas) Harnish. She graduated from Winchester High School in 1964.

She married Roger Leroy Zunker on Oct. 1, 1968. Edith worked as a dispatcher for Terra for many years.

Survivors include her children, Laura May Hodgins, Joseph Paul Zunker, Kathleen Edye Rasmussen and Rebecca Elizabeth Curran; 16 grandchildren; a brother, John Allen Harnish of California; and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Noll of Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made in Edith's name to the National Kidney Foundation.
