Kenneth Byron Zeitler, 71, of Sioux City died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab in the Hospice Unit following a lengthy battle with leukemia.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Chaplain Beverly Hurni officiating. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Kenneth was born June 23, 1936, in Sioux City, the son of Kermit E. and Dora L. (Powell) Zeitler. He graduated from Central High School with the class of 1955. He had been a life time resident of Sioux City. He had his own landscaping and lawn care service. He also worked as a mechanic.
He was a very kind, compassionate person. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and the mountains. He loved animals, especially dogs. He also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Green of Sioux City and Peggy Chappell of St. Louis, Mo.; nephews, Marvin, Larry, Gary, Anthony and Nathan; and nieces, Nancy, Janet, Sandra, Laurie, Angela and Athena.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Leone Whitlock.
