Lorelei I. Youtzy, 53, of Hinton, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2008, at a local hospital. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2008, from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008, at Central Baptist Church with Reverends David Steinbron and Clyde Pritchett officiating. Private graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, December 30, 2008.
Lorelei was born on April 2, 1955 in Chamberlain, SD, to Otto and Estella (Bode) Swanson. She grew up in Pukwana, SD, and graduated from Chamberlain High School. Lorelei then attended and graduated from South Dakota State University. She was a medical technologist and most recently was a lay chaplain for Market Place ministries, serving at Bickford Cottages, which she loved dearly.
Lorelei married Harold Youtzy Jr. on May 29, 1982, in Sioux Falls, SD. She enjoyed scrap-booking, cooking, and being at all her childrens activities. She had a love for music, especially in playing the piano for church and school show choir, as well as singing. Lorelei also loved being a homemaker and mother to her 6 children and wife to Harold.
Lorelei was a member of the Grace Evangelical Church in Hinton. Lorelei is survived by her husband, Harold of Hinton, IA, 6 children, Daniel and wife Heather Youtzy of Sioux Falls, SD, Jonathan, Rebekah, Timothy, Stephen and Nathan Youtzy all of Hinton, IA, 1 brother, Jerald Swanson of Pukwana, SD, 2 sisters, Jan Boe and husband Richard of Sioux Falls, SD, Marcia Heupel and husband Al of Madison, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Morris and his wife Sharon Swanson.
