Vergil R. Wynn

SIOUX CITY -- Vergil R. Wynn, 49, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, following a short illness, comforted by family at a local hospital.

Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family graveside services will be held. Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel has assisted the family.

Vergil was born Aug. 5, 1961, in Sioux City, to Vergil G. and Rita A. (Mina) Wynn. He graduated from East High School with the class of 1979.

Vergil married Bev Hedelson in 1984. He enjoyed working on cars, bingo, dining at a good buffet, and attending any sort of racing event. In November 2007, Vergil married April Coop.

He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.

Vergil is survived by his wife, April; daughter, Tori Wynn; brother, Rick Wynn and his wife, Lori of Sioux City; cousins, John Hansen of Freeman, S.D., and George Hansen of Elk Point, S.D.; along with numerous other cousins; special aunt, Margie Benson of North Sioux City; three stepchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

Vergil was preceded in death by his parents.
