Lylian Erma Rosella Wutkin, 92, of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008 at her home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Paul Johnston and Rabbi Guy Greene officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Norfolk, Nebraska.
Lylian was born on August 7, 1915 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Rudolph and Minnie (Buss) Schultz. She grew up in Norfolk and attended school there. She moved to Sioux City in 1934.
On March 13, 1937, she married Maurice Wutkin in Sioux City. Lylian lived in Grand Island, NE, for 2 years while Maurice served in W.W.II. While there she worked at the bomb factory.
Lylian joined Trinity Lutheran Church in 1955, where she served as a greeter for many years for Pastor Russell Olson. She also belongs to Ruth Circle and attended E.L.C.A. meeting every month to cook and serve. She was also a volunteer for the American Heart Association and member of V.F.W. Auxiliary. Lylian also loved to play bridge.
Lylian loved to shop for clothes and shoe. She was always dressed to the nines. She also enjoyed having all her friends stop by to visit.
Lylian is survived by her husband of 71 years, Maurice of Sioux City, a sister, Pearl Werner of Washington and several close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Herbert and Delmont, 4 sister, Edith Ida Retzlaff, Laura Dederman, Agnes Dederman, Lucille Koester.
Memorial may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church.
