Calvin D. "Wally" Wolter, 60, of Homer died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with David Miller officiating. Burial will be in Laurel City Cemetery, Laurel, Neb. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Calvin was born March 3, 1947, in Sioux City, the son of William and Vera (Carlson) Wolter. He grew up on a farm in Laurel, Neb., and graduated from Laurel High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He married Juanita E. Hackney on June 6, 1970, in Sioux City. He worked in the quality control and security departments for IBP for many years.
He was a volunteer for the Woodbury County Sheriffs Posse and retired with the rank of captain. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fishing. He attended River Hills Assembly of God Church in South Sioux City.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita of Homer; a son and his wife, Christopher and Miriam Wolter of Cabot, Ark.; and two grandchildren, Isaac and Johanna Wolter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
