Elizabeth J. (Betty) Winn, 78, of McCook Lake, SD, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Father Craig Collison officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

Betty was born on February 6, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa to Lloyd and Alice (Mansfield) Worden. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School.

After graduation, she began working at Joe Morton Insurance for several years, prior to working for Dr. Hirsch & Tracey, retiring after 43 years. On October 14, 1957, she married Gerald Winn in Pipestone, Minnesota.

Betty enjoyed playing golf, boating, snowmobiling, reading and wintering in Texas, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Betty was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and she attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by 2 children, Jean Marie Blackford of McCook Lake, SD and James Robert Winn of Sioux City, 4 grandchildren, Megan Blackford, Ben Blackford, Laci Blackford and Zach Winn, 2 great grandchildren Sean and Reese Stokes. 7 brothers and sisters, Jack and wife Rita Worden, Bob Worden, Eugene (Bugsy) Worden and wife Mary, Dick Worden, Mike Worden, Dorothy Kozlow and husband Jerry, and Jo Ann Kinsey and husband Dick.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jerry, a son John, 2 sisters, Margaret (Rainie) White, and Mary Laski, and 3 sisters-in-law, Shirley Worden, Helen Worden and Violet Fitty Worden.
