Marvin P. Wilson, 77, of Sioux City died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a two-year illness.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army Reserves. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Marvin was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Aurelia, Iowa, to Dallas and Vonda (Ledgerwood) Wilson, but was raised by Guy and Anita Ledgerwood. He graduated from Kingsley (Iowa) High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He worked for Swift & Co. for almost 40 years.
Survivors include his brothers and a sister, Ralph Wilson of Sioux City, twin brother, Marlin Wilson of Sioux City, Juanita Arms of Hudson, Ind., and William Wilson of Kingsley, Iowa; Anita Ledgerwood; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Wilson; and Guy Ledgerwood and his longtime companion, Margaret Moriston.
Pallbearers will be Mike Wilson, Billy Wilson, Dawn Wilson, Jessie Olson, James O'Donnel and Pat O'Donnel. Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Wilson.
