Charles Wayne Williams, 77, of Sioux City died Saturday, March 24, 2007, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Moville, Iowa, the son of Benjamin and Flora Williams. He came to Sioux City in 1939, in a covered wagon, and attended Sioux City schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He served with the 6th Armoured Division.
He married Dorothy Waddell on Sept. 14, 1957, in Sioux City. He worked for Swift and Co., Cutty's, then for Meyer Beef for 28 years until he retired.
He was an avid fisherman on the local rivers and enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Sioux City; two sons, Kenneth of Sioux City and David and his wife, Terry of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Bob and Stella Williams of Sioux City; a sister, Evelyn Torno of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Caitlin, Christopher, Scott, Lisa and Kristie; and a great-grandson, Dominic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tom and Donny; and two sisters, Dorothy and Joyce.
Pallbearers will be John Paul Torno, Jerry, Christopher and Scott Williams, Jeff Hall and Charles White.
