Anita B. Wieseler, 79, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Alexis Williams of First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa, officiating, all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to meyerbroschapels.com.
Anita was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Cedar County, Neb., the daughter of Otto M. and Anna C. (Anderson) Bottolfson. She graduated from Wynot (Neb.) High School.
On Nov. 6, 1952, she married Gilbert F. Wieseler in Wynot. To that union a son, Rickey, was born. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1953, where she was employed by Northwestern Bell for 27 years.
She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she was active in the church circle, Faith, Hope and Charity. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a sister, Madeline and her husband, Vern Newton of Napa, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Debbie Williams and her children, Maryln and Robert, who attended to her the last several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Rickey; six brothers; and six sisters.
Pallbearers will be George Williams III, Mel Williams, Brad Williams, Robert Williams, Forrest Tucker and Dennis Ekberg.
