Pamela Rae Whitead, 51, of Sioux City died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Janice Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
On Dec. 12, 1955, the Lord sent an angel to the Whitead home, they called her Pamela Rae. On July 11, the Lord took her home again.
Pamela graduated from the Sioux City School Special Education Class of 1979. She worked for New Perspectives for 26 years. She lived with her mother, Lois, until September 2005, when she went to Westwood Nursing Home, where she made many new friends.
Pam was involved in Special Olympics. She loved country music, bowling, playing bingo, her dog Holly; most of all, she loved her nephews.
She will be missed by her mother, Lois; her sister, Peg (Keith) Appel; her brother, Wesley (Barb) Whitead; her nephews, Joe and Jake Appel and Nathan and Andrew Whitead; her best friend, Joleen Charbonneau; her special friend, Willie Harmon; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Appel, Jacob Appel, Nathan Whitead, Andrew Whitead, Emily Sopci and Jodi Sweitzer. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Harmon, Joleen Charbonneau, Bonnie Barkley and Kevin Clary.
