SIOUX CITY -- Maybelle J. Wheeler, 95, of Sioux City passed away Monday, April 5, 2010, at Countryside Senior Living.
Abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family graveside services will be celebrated at a later date. Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel has assisted the family.
Maybelle was born on Sept. 17, 1914, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Robert and Pearl (Rathes) Clarke.
She married Elmer Wheeler on May 6, 1933. Maybelle and Elmer owned and operated Wheeler Scrap Iron Company, until Elmer passed away in 1985.
Survivors include her daughter, Lorna and her husband, Chris Smith of Sioux City; grandsons, Jason Harker and Brandon Smith, both of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Lissa and her husband, Chad Fengel of Sioux City; great-granddaughters, Amanda and Amber Connelly; great-grandsons, Casey and Mason Harker; many nieces and nephews; and a stepsister, Mildred DeHarty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; four brothers; three sisters; and a great-granddaughter, Natasha Harker.
