Clara Watson, 83, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008 in Knoxville. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008 also at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Monsignor Roger Augustine officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Clara was born on December 10, 1925 in Stuart, Iowa to Homer and Christina (Anderssen) Little. Clara married Alvin Watson on June 1, 1946. Clara sold beauty supplies in Sioux City for Dickson Beauty Supply. They couple lived in Sioux City until 1974, when the bought the Dairy Queen in LeMars and lived there until 1981. When they retired they moved back to Sioux City. Clara then worked at Hy-Vee as a demo lady part-time.
Survivors include her daughter, Laurie Birge and her husband Phil, and Claras 4 grandchildren, Noah, Elise, Nathan and Mary Birge.
She was preceded in death by parents and her husband Al who passed away in July of 2004.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jon Foulk, Charles Kriglstein, Barry Westhoff, Noah Birge, Phil Birge, and Justin Boyd.
