Violet Lee Warfield, 83, of Sioux City died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Chaplain Scheri Johansen officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Violet Lee Warfield was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Athens, Ga., the daughter of James Erwin and Maude L. (Bradley) Bone. She graduated from Athens High School in 1942. She went on to attend both Moeller Beauty College in Atlanta, Ga., and Davis Beauty College in Richmond, Va.
She married Elmer C. Geigle and to this union three children were born. She later married Roy C. Warfield on June 4, 1960, in Athens, Ga. Roy passed away on Jan. 5, 2006 in Sioux City. She worked as a hair stylist for LaMarick in Atlanta, retiring in 1971.
She loved to golf and fish. Later in life, she enjoyed doing crafts and volunteering her time at the cancer center. She also enjoyed Elvis Presley movies and music. She was a member of Sioux City Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandy (Wesley) Orr of Sioux City, Joan (Charles) Wyatt of Omaha and Scherry (Phil) Bertrand of Jefferson, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Roling of Madison, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, James Erwin Bone Jr.
