SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Darla A. Rouillard (Wanagi Waci Win), 43, of South Sioux City died Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. after a long illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Indian Mission in Sioux City, with the Rev. F. David Titus officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be today, with wake service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Darla was born Feb. 4, 1963, in Los Angeles, Calif., the daughter of Delbert and Mary (Denny) Rouillard. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. She worked at Interbake Foods for several years.
Darla believed in her Dakota ways until she passed on.
Survivors include four children, Tasha Rouillard and Robert Rouillard, both of Sioux City, Shane Rouillard and Tyler Rouillard, both of South Sioux City; her mother, Mary Cassens and her husband, Jim, of Sioux City; her father, Delbert Rouillard of Sioux City; a brother, Darwin Rouillard and his wife, Lisa, of Sioux City; a sister, Dana Hulit and her husband, Jason, of Walthill, Neb.; and five grandchildren, Christina, Alex, Julio Jr., Julian and Ryan.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mildred Denny; paternal grandparents, Mercy and Alex Rouillard; and a niece, Heather Rouillard.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Frazier, Lance Rouillard, Jason Hulit, Scott Clancey, Joe Provost and Kevin Frazier. Honorary pallbearers will be Melissa Denny, Rhonda Rouillard, Michelle Rouillard, Angel Thomas, Lana Davis, May Thin Elk, Richie Stricker, Bill Holmes, Mato Wakan Wi Wang Wa Cha Ota Wachipi.
