Rosalie Rotramel, 78, of Sioux City died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be Saturday in West Frankfort, Ill., with Stacey Gerhart officiating. Burial will be in Tower Heights Cemetery, West Frankfort. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Rosalie was born March 26, 1928, in Johnson City, Ill., the daughter of Jesse L. and Afton (Fleming) Freeman. She attended high school in West Frankfort, Ill.
She married LeRoy Nantz in 1946 in West Frankfort. LeRoy passed away in August 1970 in Danville, Ill. She later married Jack G. Rotramel in 1973 in West Frankfort. Jack passed away Feb. 6, 2000 in Sioux City. She was employed as a surgical nurse for Benton Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 1973.
She was well known for her cooking, especially her pies and pastries. She enjoyed spending time with kids and friends. Her life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church in West Frankfort.
Survivors include a son, Eric (Carolyn) Nantz of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Holly (Tom) Peterson of Sioux City; a stepdaughter-in-law, Susan Brown of Anthon, Iowa; a sister, Gretchen Bedokis of West Frankfort; four grandchildren, Devin and Matthew Nantz, Jessica Wagner and Zachary Peterson; two great-grandchildren, Trystan Wagner and Emily Peterson; and two stepgrandchildren, Jaclynn and Jonathon Rotramel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son, Gayle David Nantz; and a stepson, Marcus Rotramel.
