Dorothy Juanita Rose, 85, of Sioux City died of cancer Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at her residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Valerie A. Heller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Mrs. Rose was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Sergeant Bluff, the daughter of E.E. and Agnes (Trobaugh) Arnett. She graduated from Bronson (Iowa) High School.

She married William K. Rose on June 13, 1942, in South Sioux City. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 2003. She was employed at T.S. Martin, Younkers, Mr. Donut and retired from J.C. Penney's in 1983.

She loved crafts of all kinds. She supplied the Goodwill Industries with knitted hats and mittens and Dr. Kennedy with knitted sweaters, which were shipped to help the people of South America. She was a member of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church, where she served as president of the ladies group and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was also involved in various other church activities.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Daniel and Georgia Rose of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Karen and Kevin Struve of Mankato, Minn.; two brothers and their wives, Elgerd and Marilyn Arnett of Sioux City and Ronald and Nancy Arnett of Shakopee, Minn.; two sisters and their husbands, Fern and Jack Watkins of Minot, N.D., and Ann and Paul Grause of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, William Rose; and a sister, LaVerne Besch
