Dennis P. Rose, 56, of Sioux City, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2007, at a local hospital. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 10, 2007, from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Erpelding celebrating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Dennis was born on March 1, 1951 in Sioux City to William and Rose (Tierno) Rose. He grew up in Sioux City and attended school at St. Joseph School and then graduated from Bishop Heelan High School.

After high school he worked at Standard Brand then at Wigman Company for 32 years. Dennis retired in 2006 due to his health.

On June 21, 1980, he married Carol Kreisler at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City.

Dennis enjoyed the great outdoors, where he would hunt, fish and go camping. He loved spending time with his family and friends, but his biggest joy was his grandson Christian.

Dennis was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Carol of Sioux City, a son William Rose and his wife Amanda and their son Christian, all of Sioux City, IA; a brother, Mike Rose and his wife Linda of Denver, CO; a sister Angela Rose of Sioux City, IA; his mother-in-law, Irene Kreisler of Sioux City, IA; a sister-in-law, Kathy Ellerbroek and her husband Greg, and two brothers-in-law, Roger Kreisler and his wife Pat, and Rod Kreisler. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, James, father-in-law, Marvin Kreisler, and a sister-in-law, Karen Acrivelis.
