Jacqueline J. Roddewig, 75, of Whiting, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 5 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
She was born on May 16, 1934 to Wilbur H. Roddewig and Marjorie L. (Holmberg) Roddewig. She received her education in Sioux City, graduating from Central High, and later attended various community colleges.
Jacqueline spent the majority of her life in Oregon, and later returned to Sioux City in 1990. She was employed in the printing business for a number of years and was once head of printing in the state of Oregon. Jacqueline loved to fish and had a great love for animals and the outdoors. She was an avid womens AAU softball player. She also liked playing cards with her family and enjoyed playing bingo. Jacqueline served in the Korean War as a member of WAVES in the United States Navy.
Survivors include two sisters, Diana Kovarna and fianc Bob Treiber of Danbury, Iowa, and Sandra (Burnell) Stone of Coleridge, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Patricia Roddewig and Linda Roddewig.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Sioux City Humane Society, 1015 Tri-View Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa 51103.
