Ralph D. "Robbie" Robinson, 66, of Sioux City passed away Monday, May 8, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with Maria Baker, chaplain at Mercy Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army Reserves. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Ralph was born Aug. 25, 1939, in Graettinger, Iowa, the son of Ralph R. and Beulah G. (Nunamaker) Robinson. He resided in Sioux City for the majority of his life. He served in the U.S. Army.He married Clare F. McGuire on Nov. 4, 1961, in Sioux City. Clare preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 1998, in Sioux City. He had been a plumber and pipe fitter for 40 years, retiring from Hagan Company in 2000.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, bird watching and especially having coffee with friends.

Survivors include eight children, Laurie and her husband, Steve Liebetrau of Akron, Iowa, Debra Kay "Deb" Robinson of Falls Church, Va., Ralph James "Jim" Robinson and his fiancee, Nancy Anderson of Fort Dodge, Iowa, John Robinson and his wife, Michelle of Sergeant Bluff, Tom Robinson of Sioux City, Brian Robinson of Sioux City, Mike Robinson and his wife, Becky of Sioux City and Ray Robinson and his fiancee, Lori Schwede of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sisters, Pat Robinson and her special friend, Rich of Napa Valley, Calif., and June Snedeker of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Chris Robinson, Lauren Robinson, Austin Zortman, Maggi Liebetrau, Ben Liebetrau and Madison Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his stepfather, Art Peck.
