SIOUX CITY -- Roger E. Richardson, 61, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011, at his home after a brief illness.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Jon Moravec officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation with the family present will be the hour prior to the services Tuesday.
Roger was born Feb. 7, 1950, in Rapid City, S.D., the son of Elbert R. and Annette (Johnson) Richardson. He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years.
On Aug. 14, 1984, he married Anita J. LeFebvre. Roger teamed with Anita driving for Guntren Express. Most recently, he drove locally for Love Bros. out of Dakota City, Neb.
Hunting and fishing is what he loved to do in his spare time. He enjoyed watching westerns and football and was an avid Steelers fan. Most of all, Roger was known by many for his fabulous sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife, Anita; two daughters, Angela (Bobby) Rawlinson of Texas, and Danielle Richardson of Sioux City; three grandsons, Joseph and Jacob Rawlinson and Austin Sissel; two brothers, Steve (Kathy) Richardson of Beatrice, Neb., and Stan (Ellen) Richardson of Lincoln, Neb.; and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 11 stepchildren and many great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made in his name and directed to the family.
