SIOUX CITY -- Clarence A. Reynolds Sr., 86, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Air Force. Visitation with the family will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Clarence was born Jan. 15, 1922, the son of Lucius and Martha (Mason) Reynolds. He was a lifelong Sioux City resident. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps from May 1944 to June 1946.
He married Virginia Sharpback in 1945. He retired from Armour after more than 25 years.
He loved to fish and play pool. He enjoyed driving his car and spending time with his old buddies.
Survivors include three sons, Arthur Reynolds and his wife, Lola of Santee, Neb., Clarence Reynold Jr. of Sioux City and Raphael Reynolds of California; two daughters, Velma Reynolds of Sioux City and Vera Reynolds of Sioux City; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rebecca Myers of Chicago, Ill., and Lily Pearl Vanley of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William, Roscoe and Luther; and a granddaughter, Shirelle.
