SIOUX CITY -- Peggy H. Reynolds, 84, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at a local hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be 7 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with Neil Peck officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
Peggy was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Sioux City, the daughter of Julius William and Mary Margaret (Fahey) Smith. She attended schools in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1945.
On Aug. 30, 1947, she married Scotty C. Reynolds in Sioux City. She worked various jobs including at Wincharger, Johnson Biscuit, Albertson's and Burger King. Scotty died Nov. 24, 2004 in Sioux City.
The time Grandma Peggy spent babysitting her grandchildren was what she loved to do most of all. Her pastimes included sewing, crocheting, knitting, scherenschnitte (scissor cutting crafts) and calligraphy. She also enjoyed having coffee with her friends.
She is survived by four children, Tom Reynolds of California, Becky and her husband, Randy Hansen, Randy Reynolds and Tammy and her husband, Alan Fagan, all of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Paige and her husband, Rob Oliva, of Sioux City, Carrie and her husband, Dave Meyers, of South Sioux City, Brett Hansen and his wife, Krissy of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Alex Fagan and Cole Fagan both of Sioux City; three great-grandchildren, Ella and Noah Meyers and Mia Oliva, plus another one on the way; two brothers, George Smith and his wife, Colleen, of Dubuque, Iowa, and Steve Smith and his wife, Jean of Rochester, Minn.; and two sisters, Mary Greer of Iowa City, Iowa, and Liz Schultz of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and seven siblings, Don, Jack, Joe and Mike Smith, Connie Favis, Barbara Boyle and Sandra Hanlen.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Siouxland.
