Howard F. Rasmussen, 84, of Hubbard died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at Matney's Colonial Manor in South Sioux City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Rasmussen officiating. Graveside services will follow in Graceland Park Cemetery. Howard was born May 30, 1923, in Sioux City, the son of Axel A. and Mae L. (White) Rasmussen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Hubbard. He graduated from Hubbard High School.
Howard married Patronilla "Pat" Weber on Feb. 14, 1944, at St. Ann Church in Dixon, Neb. He was a lifetime resident of the Hubbard and Jackson, Neb. area. Howard was a farmer and manager of Northeast Nebraska Telephone Company.
He was very active in 4H and was a 4H leader. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Northeast Nebraska Telephone Association. Howard enjoyed traveling and loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Patronilla "Pat" Rasmussen of Hubbard; as well as his cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Helen Rasmussen.
Pallbearers will be Chad Borrall, Jeff Borrall, Mike Borrall, Richard Koch, Pat Teager, Josh Marron and Scott Bousquet. Honorary pallbearers will be Northeast Nebraska Telephone directors and employees.
