Donald "Gary" Rasmussen
April 27, 1937 — April 24, 2007
Donald Gary Rasmussen, 69, of Dakota City, NE: passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Matneys Colonial Manor in South Sioux City. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
Gary was born April 27, 1937 in Bronson, Iowa to Andrew and Thyra (Cagley) Rasmussen. He attended school in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School.
He was well known as a bartender for several years and Martys and Bill Millers before moving to Phoenix, AZ. with his mother and sister for 12 years. He returned to Dakota City, NE: and then did bookwork for V.F.W. of Sioux City. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Shirley Rasmussen of Sioux City and many nieces and nephews survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Betty Watts and Darlene Rasmussen, 3 brothers, Clarence, Neil and Bobby Rasmussen.
