Donald L. Puttman, 62 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services for Don will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Roger Madden officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Nelson Berger Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Don was born to Randy and LaNelle (Hooks) Puttmann (This is suppose to have 2 ns) on August 15, 1946 in Sioux City. He graduated from Leeds High School in attended 2 years of junior college. He served his country in the 185th Air National Guard. During the Vietnam War he was stationed in Clovis, New Mexico. He was machinist for Sioux Tools for 30 years. Don was married to Karla Marker on November 2, 1980 in Elk Point, SD. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Don was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed playing golf, watching the Cubs play baseball and the Bears play football. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, and playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Karla Puttman of Sioux City; son Ryan (Cindy) Puttman of Dakota Dunes, SD; daughter Tara Puttman of Sioux City; 2 grandchildren Shay and Maxx Puttman; and a sister Randi Lynn (Randy) Cooper of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by parents, and a sister LaNette Wright.
