Sandra Prodehl

SIOUX CITY -- Sandra L. (Sandy) Prodehl, 61, went peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Sioux City on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, to be with her Heavenly Father.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with the Rev. Sam Todd of Sunnybrook Community Church officiating. Abiding family wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will be held at a later date.

Sandy was born Nov. 3, 1948, the daughter of Fay L. and Norma (Durbin) Prodehl. Sandy later met and married her soul mate, Rodney Bartle in October of 1975. After 18 years, they parted ways but always remained close friends. Jackie, her sister-in-law, was like that of a sister to her.

Sandy was employed by Goodwill Industries for some time in her earlier years, as well as the old stockyards cafe. She enjoyed going to the Friendship Club for arts and crafts and noon meals. Sandy was well liked by many and she was a very giving and accepting person. She enjoyed going to bingo with her family. She loved to play dice with her sister Vickie as well as making late night trips to Wally's together. She will be sorrowfully missed by all. We know God has called her home as her work here was finished. She gave so much of herself to everyone. She especially loved her nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and nephews.

She is survived by her sister Victoria L Murkins of Sioux City, brothers Roger A Prodehl (Peg) of Sioux City and Russ Lampkin of Tucson, Ariz., and lifelong partner Rod Bartle.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dee Stewart.
