Barbara R. Prichard, 71, of Sioux City died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at her residence surrounded by loved ones.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Craig Collison of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Barbara was born Aug. 9, 1935, in Rodney, Iowa, to Clarence and Tori (Garvad) Scott. She graduated from Central High School in 1954.
She married Theodore Prichard. Barbara worked in the shoe department at Younker-Davidson's for several years and later worked with her husband at their business, Prichard Tower.
Barbara and Ted spent the last 30 years wintering in Florida. She enjoyed traveling, reading, shopping, playing cards, but most of all, she spent time with her family and loved to spoil her grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband, Theodore; three daughters and their husbands, Teddy Ann and Greg Anderson of McCook Lake, S.D., Tammy and Nick Stamoulis of Milford, Iowa, and Tracy and Keith Christiansen of Naperville, Ill.; three sons, Roy and his wife, Joan Prichard of Roswell, Ga., Rick and his wife, Tracy Prichard of Sioux City, and Rodney Prichard of Rapid City, S.D.; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Gladys and Ken Hanson of Sioux City; numerous nieces and nephews and an extended family of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, LaVonne Miller; and a brother, Jim Scott.
