Dave Phillips

February 24, 1952 — May 1, 2006

Charles David "Dave" Phillips, age 54 of Sioux City, died Monday at a Sioux City hospital after a year and a half long illness. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and the family present 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He was a manager at Sadoff's Clothing for 15 years. Previously, he worked at Big Soo Terminal, Asbestos Workers Union, Donnelly Marketing, Cook Office Supply and the city of Sioux City building department.

He enjoyed walking, going to the gym, playing with Teri's grandchildren and listening to talk radio. He was on KSCJ Radio's Open Line program as a representative for Sadoff's.

Survivors include two brothers, Gil Phillips of Kokomo, Ind., and George Phillips and his wife, Betty of Slidell, La.; a niece and her husband, Emily and Will Hall of Hammond, La.; a nephew, Matthew Phillips of Hammond, La.; a nephew and his wife, Ian and Laura Phillips of Bloomington, Ind.; a niece, Allison Phillips of Bloomington, Ind.; a cousin and his wife, Doug and Joanie Hartman of Omaha; his companion, Teresa "Teri" Conry of Sioux City; and Teri's family (who was like Dave's adopted family) Timothy Conry and his children, Patrick and Harley and Courtney (deceased), Natalie and David Hedrick and their children, Tabitha and Colin, Christopher and Doran Conry and their daughter, Clara, Jennifer and Javier Rios, Spec. Jessica Shilling and Tyler Shilling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an aunt and uncle, Dorothy and Harmon Hartman.
