Betty L. Penne

Betty L. Penne, 77, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at her residence.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Mrs. Penne was born April 7, 1930, in Sioux City, the daughter of Helen Levich. She married Jerry D. Miller, who preceded her in death in 1977. In 1981, she married Robert Penne in Elk Point, S.D., who preceded her in death in 1995. She was a homemaker.

She loved baking, reading, spending time with family, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Van Voorst and her husband, Dave Scherrman of Janesville, Wis., Sandee and her husband, Ray Meyer of Spencer, Iowa, and Linda Hoefer of Sioux City; and seven grandchildren, Tami Griffin, Tracy Nelson, Adam Meyer, Benjamin Heinke, Ian Heinke, Luke Hoefer and Grace Hoefer.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and two husbands.
