Dorothy V. Peacock

Dorothy V. Peacock, 88, of Sioux City died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at a local nursing home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Westlawn Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Paul Speidel officiating. Burial will be Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Mrs. Peacock was born April 1, 1918, in Winner, S.D., the daughter of Fletcher and Josephine (Bennett) Robinson. She graduated from high school in Wood, S.D.

She married Lyle I. Peacock on April 28, 1938, in Wood, S.D. She was a homemaker. Lyle passed away in 1993.

She was a member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed camping all over the United States and Canada. She had a great love for the outdoors and spending time with her family. She will be remembered by all those who knew her for her immaculately clean house.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, John and Priscilla Peacock of Sioux City, Paul and Elaine Peacock of Elk Point, S.D., and Marvin and Judy Peacock of Tyndall, S.D.; two brothers, William Robinson of California, and Kencel Robinson of Winner, S.D.; a sister, Betty Jo Peacock of Scotts Bluff, Neb.; two granddaughter, Mary Beth and Amy; three grandsons, Danny, Terry and Brent; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother.
