Shelley Lynelle Pape, 38, of Sioux City sailed to heaven on silver wings Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Nativity. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Shelley was born June 24, 1969, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Roy L. and Diana (Ennes) Semon. The family moved to Sergeant Bluff in November 1970. She graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School in 1987 and from Morningside College in 1991. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Phi Sorority.
She married Michael S. Pape on June 10, 1994 in Sioux City. She was a certified senior adviser for Bankers Life and Casualty Company for 17 years.
She was a member of the Church of the Nativity and enjoyed golfing and bowling. She will be remembered for her creativity and her art work.
Survivors include her husband, Michael of Sioux City; two sons, Nolan James and Bryce Phillip, both at home; her parents, Diana and Roy Semon of Sergeant Bluff; a sister and her husband, Shauna and Craig Martin of Sioux City and their children, Collin and Cayden Martin; her father and mother-in-law, Rudy and Marian Pape of Sioux City; brothers-in-law, Jerry Pape and his wife, Julie of Kansas City, Kan., Tom Pape of Atlanta, Ga., and Kelan Pape and his wife, Amy of Denver, Colo.; three nieces, Stephanie Pape, Natalie Pape and Jocara Pape; a nephew, Logan Pape; and many aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Pallbearers will be James Semon, Douglas Beller, Leon Stevenson, Jerry Pape, Kelan Pape and Bob Baxter. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Pape.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
