Margaret Palmer

November 2, 1930 — April 29, 2006

Margaret H. Palmer, 75, of Sioux City died Saturday, April 29, 2006, in St. Cloud, Fla.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Maggie was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Sioux City, to Percy and Jessie (Mitchell) Miller. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1948. She attended Briar Cliff College and went on to graduate from the St. Vincent's School of Nursing in 1951. She married Tommie Palmer in 1951 and was later divorced.

She owned and operated Krisnic Kennels on Military Road and a pet shop in the Sunset Plaza for a number of years. She also worked for Dr. Roach Vet Clinic for a short time. She retired from St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in 1989, after 30 years of service as a nursing supervisor. After her retirement, she enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Sioux City.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed working with pets, canning, baking, gardening and stamp and coin collecting. She also enjoyed traveling and working on the family genealogy.

She is survived by a daughter, Virginia "Jenny" Palmer of St. Cloud, Fla.; two sisters, Mary and Bob Palmer of South Sioux City and Ruth and Fred Bruno of Sioux City; a nephew, Phillip Bruno of Sioux City; cousins from Sioux City; and her special granddoggie, Little Momma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother.

Pallbearers will be Clair, Brian, Tim and Dave Holmberg
