Jeffrey L. Olson

Funeral services for Jeffrey L. Ole Olson, 54 of Sioux City will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel at 6200 Morningside Ave. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Jeff passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at a Sioux City Hospital. Arrangements are by Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Following the funeral service there will be a celebration of life at Soozs located at 1910 Leech in Sioux City.

Jeff was born on October 26, 1955 in Sioux City to Arnold C. and Patricia A. (Willett) Olson. He was married to Candy Minton in 1979 and to this union a daughter Krissy was born. The marriage later ended. Jeff was employed for many years as a baker with Sara Lee where his coworkers knew him only as Oly. He has recently been employeed with Wal-Mart in the Deli Department. Jeffs greatest love was bowling. He was a member of the USBC and won the Masters in 1990. One of his proudest moments was when he bowled a perfect game in 2001. He also had a few 800 games which got him inducted into the Iowa Bowling Hall of Fame. Jeff also enjoyed playing pool and texas holdem.

Jeff is survived by his parents Arnold and Patricia Olson of Sioux City; daughter Krissy (Robert) Haverland of Vernonia, OR; and two other daughters; sister Camille (John) Farley of Sioux City; sister Jodi Rotert of Sioux City; brother Jerrod (Mary Beth) Olson of Arlington, NE; and a sister Malissa Peterson of Sioux City; a grandson Isaac Haverland, and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, a brother-in-law David Rotert, and a special friend Kandis Keck

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be given in Jeffs name to the family.
