Beth A. (Robinson) Olson, 83, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Beth was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Washta, Iowa. She graduated from Central High School.
She worked at Mutual of Omaha when she was introduced to Art Olson by lifetime friends Wayne and Beverly McCallister. Art and Beth were married Jan. 20, 1951, in Rapid City, S.D.
Beth was co-owner of Olson Cycle Center for many years.
She was a member of the Soo Cycle Club. She was a FA Tri Tee charter member. She helped begin and was an active member at Opportunities Unlimited before becoming ill with cancer. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was involved in Lydia Circle.
Beth enjoyed being with her family and friends, playing bridge, baking and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Art; a son, Scott Olson of Sioux City; two daughters, Kathy (Maury) Fjestad of Apple Valley, Minn., and Sue (Steve) Ostendorf of Farmington, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Steve and Jessie Olson, Jaclyn, Daniel and Jason Fjestad, Jeff LaBrie, and Katelyn and Stephanie Ostendorf; a great-grandchild, Elizabeth Olson; two brothers, Gordon (Rusty) Robinson of Springfield, Ill., and Gary (Sue) Robinson of Livermore, Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Clare Robinson of St. Louis, Mo.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Olson; a brother, Burdett Robinson; and her parents, Alonzo and Daisy Robinson.
