Mary E. O'Connor

SIOUX CITY -- Mary E. O'Connor, 96, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Friday, with a Catholic Daughters of America rosary at 9:30 a.m., at the church parish center. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Mary was born June 2, 1913, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the daughter of Chris and Anna Albrecht. On Dec. 21, 1933, she was united in marriage to John A. O'Connor. He died Aug. 21, 1970.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Audino of Sioux City; four grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Jean Audino of Land 'O Lakes, Fla., Susan Richardson of Eugene, Ore., Matt and Jonna Audino of Dallas, Iowa, and Kathy and Dave Carelli of Canfield, Ohio; and nine great-grandchildren, Jessee Treiber, Lucas Richardson, Anthony and Gina Carelli, Vincent, Shalee and Trenton Shever, David Cantrell and Jordan Sargent.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Edward Albrecht; sisters, Lulah Adkins and Mable Engel; a grandson, Patrick Audino; a great-grandson, Jonathon Treiber; and a son-in-law, Anthony Audino.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bishop Heelan High School or Hospice of Siouxland.
