Leona (Gnewuch) O'Boyle, 86, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Brewster, Minn. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 5:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Leona was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Worthington, Minn., the daughter of Matthew and Antonia (Krukmeyer) Weinandt.

On Sept. 28, 1946, she married Quinten Gnewuch. Together, they settled in Sioux City and had nine children. Quinten passed away June 16, 1969. On Nov. 2, 1974, she married Dale O'Boyle. He passed away June 30, 1977.

She spent her life devoted to her family.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Terry and Kathy Gnewuch of Sioux City, Sherry and Jim Neuerburg of Kansas City, Colleen and Francis Dunn of Sioux City, Mike Gnewuch and Denny and Linda Gnewuch, all of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Debbie Gnewuch of Sioux City; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Clara and her husband, Ward Wakeman of Mankato, Minn., and Mary O'Connor of Brewster, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Quinten Gnewuch and Dale O'Boyle; her sons, William, Richard and Thomas; and her brothers, Joseph and Mathew Weinandt.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Neuerburg, Jason Dunn, Jason Kunze, Justin Dunn, Timothy Lester and Brian Lester. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Dunn, Jonathon Dunn, Jeffrey Dunn, Jacob Dunn, Jeremy Kunze, Thomas Gnewuch, Kevin Gnewuch and Richard Gnewuch.
