Frances L. Nystrom

SIOUX CITY -- Frances L. Nystrom, 87, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at a local hospital.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday,February 18, 2010 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. David Zirpel officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

Frances was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Sioux City, the daughter of Albert J. and Bertha (Anderson) Nystrom. She attended school in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1941. After a brief period in California, she came back to Sioux City, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Frances worked for Dr. Rizk Dentistry until she retired. She was an avid bowler, sports fan and a free spirit.

Frances is survived by her sister, Dorothy Jahde of Sioux City, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alder "Bud" and Paul Nystrom; a sister-in-law, Doris Nystrom; a brother-in-law, Leonard Jahde; and a niece, Suzanne.

Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Nystrom, Bruce Nystrom, John Reed, Doug Keleher, Jim Koser and Keith Kelly.
