Yovan Nuno, 25 of Sioux City died unexpectedly Sunday, March 18, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. James Mosley of Tabernacle Church of God in Christ officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Yovan was born Sept. 28, 1981, in Sioux City, the son of Luis and Fran (Mancilla) Nuno. He was working on obtaining his general education diploma from Western Iowa Tech Community College. He worked various jobs around Sioux City with Rudy Salem Staffing Services.
He loved fishing and walking the family dog, Bundls. He attended Cornerstone World Outreach and Tabernacle Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his mother and her husband, Fran and Geronimo Ortiz of West Olive, Mich.; his father and his wife, Luis Nuno and Barbara Topete of Sioux City; two sisters, Galaxia and her husband, Juan Alverio of West Olive, Mich., and Brooklynne Miller at home; two stepsisters, Jenny Medina and Tiffanie Topete of Sioux City; and a brother, Javier Ortiz of Holland, Mich.; maternal grandparents, Jose and Dolores Mancilla of West Olive, Mich.; paternal grandmother, Maria Mancilla of San Antonio, Texas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Luis Nuno; and a niece, Kianna Alverio.
