Sally D. Norton, 72, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday December 5, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday December 4, 2007, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Norton was born July 6, 1935, at her home in Sioux City, the daughter of Dean and Helen (Snyder) Calhoun. She graduated from high school and took her career training as a secretary from Central High School in 1952.
She married Joseph J. Norton Jr. on Sept. 29, 1956, in Sioux City. Joseph passed away March 23, 1999, in Sioux City. She worked as a legal secretary for attorney Dan Galvin.
She enjoyed attending her grandkids activities and spending time with he friends. She will best be remembered for her loveable, nice, care taking personality that touched so many lives. Once you met her you couldn't help but love and always remember her. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Survivors include her mother, Helen Calhoun; a son, Joe (Jennifer) Norton III of Sioux City; a daughter, Stacey (James) Modell of Moville, Iowa; five grandchildren, Alexa, Jace, Megan, Jacob and Katelyn; a close cousin, Devonna Hancer of Sioux City; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Norton of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; and a daughter-in-law, Sherree Norton.
