Charlotte I. Nolan, 70, of Sioux City, died March 12, 2007at her sons residence, surrounded by loved ones, after a brief illness. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007 also at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Chaplain Glen Houts officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Nolan was born February 7, 1937, in Jackson, Nebraska to Lawrence and Mary (Dummer) Moran. She attended Central High School, class of 1955. She was nicknamed Boke; origin is still a mystery to this day. As a teenager she worked in the record department of Woolworths. She was a clerk for several years at MoPar. She was a bank teller for 8 years at 1st National Bank. Charlotte retired in 1999 after 20 years as a receptionist from Iowa Workforce Development.
Charlotte was married to Howard F. Owen and later married to Kenneth Nolan.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening, bingo, yard sales and walking. Throughout her life she belonged to various organizations and often volunteered her time to several of them. Charlotte even reeled in a few fish over the years. A devoted mother, caring grandmother, loved fellowship with her family and friends.
Survivors include a son Tim and his wife Mary Beth Owen, three sisters Lucille Edgar of Littleton, Colorado, Betty and her husband James Moser of Sioux City, Iowa, Sandra and her husband Melvin Ronfeldt of Omaha, Nebraska, two brothers and their wives, Charles and Pat Moran of Meridian, Mississippi, and Keith and Carol Moran of Omaha, Nebraska, 4 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and one great grand daughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Mary Moran, two sisters, Veronica Moran and Genevieve Hoth.
Serving, as pallbearers will be Jonathan Owen, Adam Owen, William Rush, William Wheatcraft, Samuel Webb Jr. and Kirk Edgar.
