Donna M. Nocita, 81, of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at St. Lukes Hospital. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2008, also at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Pastor Michael Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Donna was born on August 19, 1926, in Fulda, MN: to Louis and Marie (Clausen) Zimmer. She grew up in Minnesota and Iowa. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City. On July 26, 1955, she married Nick Nicholas Nocita in Sioux City. Donna was a waitress all her life. Nick and Donna owned Rosss Restaurant and Bar in South Sioux City for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for many years. Donna enjoyed playing cards, watching the news, drinking coffee, her dogs and of course, her family. She loved to waitress, she always said, If Im not working, then Im not living. Donna was a giving person; she was a child sponsor for several years. Donna is survived by her daughter, Nicole Nocita of Sioux City, granddaughter, Michelle Renee Nocita and one great grandchild, Victoria Rose Nocita all of Sioux City, IA. A brother, Bob Zimmer of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Evelyn LeClaire of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nick on January 23, 1970, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
