Dustin D. Nelson, 19, of Le Mars, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital from injuries suffered in an auto accident.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Laurice Streyffler officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Le Mars. Dustin was born Aug. 22, 1988, in Sioux City, to Rodney G. and Judy (Tomlinson) Hoffman. He grew up in Sioux City and moved to Le Mars about six years ago. He was currently employed by 3 Little Pigs hog confinement.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanics and spending time with his boys. He was a fan of the St. Louis Rams.
Survivors include his fiancee, Justine Reuter of Le Mars; two sons, Ethan and Jayden Nelson at home; his father, Rodney Hoffman of Akron, Iowa; his mother, Judy Nelson of Le Mars; three sisters, Kayla Nelson and her fiance, Jordon Jurgensen of Le Mars, Megan Nelson and Cassandra Nelson, both of Sioux City; four brothers, Lawrence Hoffman of Akron, Iowa, Austin Nelson of Le Mars, Brice Hoffman of Akron and Chance Hoffman of Akron; maternal grandparents, Marrill and Margaret Tomlinson of Sioux City; paternal grandfather, Carl Nelson of Westfield, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Judy Hoffman of Elk Point, S.D.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Margaret Nelson; an uncle, Randi Nelson; great-grandparents, Clifford and Elva Tomlinson, Mike and Margaret Boyle, Donald and Violet Claubaugh, Harry Nelson and Mable (Nelson) Kobernus and her husband, Louie.
Pallbearers will be Mark Sturgeon, Josh Hanks, Lawrence Hoffman, Dale Timmermon, Rodney Hoffman and Jordon Jurgensen. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Nelson, Jayden Nelson, Austin Nelson, Brice Hoffman, Chance Hoffman and Cody Hanks.
Memorials may be made in his name for the welfare of his two young sons.
