SIOUX CITY -- Ethel R. Nason, 79, of Sioux City died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at her residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Riverside United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Merrill Muller of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Ethel R. Nason was born June 18, 1929, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of George and Ruth (Anderson) Hasbrouck. She graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1947.
She was married to Lawrence Nason on March 13, 1948, in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2003, in Sioux City. She was employed at General Distributing and retired as a supervisor in the Woodbury County Clerk of District Court's office after 24 years of service.
She was an active member of Riverside United Methodist Church and the Sioux City Quilter's Guild. She loved quilting, reading and gardening, especially attending to her roses.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Jack) Beckwith of Somerset, Wis., and Dianne (Ron) Davidson of Sioux City; a son, Larry Nason Jr. and his special friend, Tamara, of Sioux City; a sister, Doris Gunlock of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Cassandra (Shawn) Nelson, Christopher (Imee) Beckwith, Nickolas (Nicolle) Davidson and Kayla Davidson; and five great-grandchildren, Blake, Iverson, Iana, Joe and Miley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jack Anderson.
