Sophia R. Nashleanas

Sophia R. Nashleanas, 83, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Mr. Larry Sitzman, deacon, officiating. Private family graveside services will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Sophia was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Sioux City, the daughter of Tony and Anna (Alexandrovich) Ratkiewicz. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident.

She was married to Adam J. Nashleanas. She was a self-employed tax accountant.

She had great knowledge and passion for antiques and collectibles. She enjoyed large flower gardens and frequently reminisced about her parents' gardens. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Gary and Denise Nashleanas of Omaha, Greg Nashleanas and Kristy Orison of Sioux City and Randy and Barb Nashleanas of Brookfield, Wis.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Kelley and her husband, J.R. Howe and their children, Candice and Joshua, Trevor Nashleanas, Craig Nashleanas, Troy Nashleanas and his wife, Kelly and their children, Ashley and Ben, Todd Nashleanas and his wife, Aimee and their children, Ross, Brett and Grace, Steven Nashleanas and Laren Nashleanas; a stepgrandson, Nick Wheeler; and a brother, Stanley Ratkiewicz of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Felicia McPerry.

Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Siouxland.
