SIOUX CITY -- Sheila Agnes Bennett Myers, 63, formerly of Sioux City went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2009, at St. Peter's Hospital in Helena, Mont.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Sheila was born Feb. 4, 1946, in Newcastle, Neb., to Melvin and Ellen Bennett. She graduated from Leeds High School in 1964.
She spent most of her life in Sioux City, where she met and married Lee Townsend. They had three children together and were later divorced.
In July 1995, she met Richard Myers. They were married on May 8, 1998. She was very happy and excited to travel with Rich and they enjoyed many places and many good times before making Helena their home in 1998.
She loved her family and friends very much, especially her grandchildren. They meant everything to her. She was happiest when she was able to spend time with them and making sure they were all right. She enjoyed traveling with Rich and her family, spending time with her family and friends, reading and crocheting.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her three children and their families, Renee and Shannon Carr (Kassandra, Brandt and Sydney) of Bella Vista, Ark., Sherri Townsend (Savanna and Shane) of Helena and Guy Townsend (Kaitlan) of St. Paul, Minn.; two great-granddaughters, Kiana and Hannah; two brothers, Frank Bennett of North Sioux City and Pat Bennett of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Ellen and Tom Weideman of Sioux City; her nephews, Jim Weideman, Paxton and Brent Bennett; and nieces, Angie, Nikki and Christine "CeCe" Weideman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Ellen Bennett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Weideman, Paxton Bennett, Brent Bennett, Shane Townsend and Brandt Carr.
