Glenn C. Musselman

Glenn C. Musselman, 80 of Sioux City died Monday, May 28, 2007, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Merrill Muller and Laurice Streyfeller officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Glenn was born Dec. 22, 1926, in Sioux City, the son of Clifford and Mae (Reid) Musselman. He lived in Leeds his entire life. He graduated from Leeds High School in June 1944. He was active in the school choir and all sports. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for two years.

He married Mary Kruger on May 10, 1947, in Omaha. They had just observed their 60th wedding anniversary.

He drove truck for Dahl-Hagen Truck Lines for 15 years and was employed at Wincharger and Dyna Tech. He retired from Concrete Pipe in 1989.

He loved all sports. At one time, he was an avid bowler. He loved watching the Cubs, Braves, Bulls and Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed playing cards, his weekly domino games, listening to music and he was very fond of the Gaithers.

He was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where he served on the board, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Gary Musselman of Yankton, S.D., Charlene and Tom Peterson of Le Mars, Iowa, Wendy and Rick Oldenkamp, Ted and Mary Musselman, Vickie and John Staiert, Brian and Christine Musselman and Randy and Laura Musselman, all of Sioux City; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Duane Musselman of Sioux City and Dean and Jean Musselman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Mable Kruger of Lakewood, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Donald Kruger; a sister-in-law, Estelle Musselman; and two great-grandsons, Michael and Derek.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Siouxland or Wesley United Methodist Church.
