SIOUX CITY -- Homer A. Musgrove Jr., 85, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at a local nursing home following a brief illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. James Travis officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
Homer was born April 13, 1924, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Homer and Gladys (Pearson) Musgrove.
He married Bernice Kunze on Dec. 5, 1988, in Council Bluffs. He worked for many years and retired from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad.
He was a member of the Eagles in Council Bluffs, the International Brotherhood of Firemen and Oilers and the Loyal Order Moose Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Kunze; children, Larry Kunze and his wife, Sandy of Sioux City, Rick Kunze of Mayer, Ariz., and Rob Kunze of Morgan Hill, Calif.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a brother.
The family would like to give thanks to the Hospice caregivers and a special thanks to Peggy and Dave for all their wonderful care.
Memorials made in Homer's name may be directed to the family.
